Udaiphur:

Known as the City of Lakes. There’s 7 artificially made lakes surrounding the city of Udaiphur. This City is also known as the Venice of the east with its beautiful architectural buildings lining Lake Pichola. The James Bond move “Octopussy” was partially shot here. This is a Romantic City known around India where newlyweds go for their honeymoon.

Pushkar lake, a sacred Hindu site. Story according to our guide, one of the lotus petal fell in this lake from the hand of lord Brahman( the creator, and one of the three major gods of Hinduism).

Pushka is a town in the Ajmer district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It's set on Pushkar Lake, a sacred Hindu site where pilgrims bathe.

shore of Pushkar Lake, where pilgrims bathe.

It is considered a sacred city by Hindus particularly in Shaktism, and meat and eggs consumption are forbidden in the city. I saw a lot of left-over foreign tourists, and hippies. According to our guide, these people came here seeking enlightenment, smoke marijuana and other drugs.
Took us approximately 4 hours train ride from Jodhpur to Ajmer, then rode a private truck to Pushkar (40 minutes).

Small servings but the host keeps going around and fill our plates until we said, NO! All vegetarian, no meat, eggs, beer allowed in Pushkar because it’s a Holy place/town for Hindus.
